"Signs of lymphatic congestion may include bloating, food intolerances and dull skin"
I became a huge fan of lymphatic massage after just one session. I learned about this type of massage from instagram and to me it is worth all the hype. The more I learned and read and experienced the health benefits and I was hooked. I believe in this method so much I have recently started looking into getting my certification in this type of massage. In the beginning, it was tricky to find a practitioner as it is still new to Canada especially in smaller cities. I believe that this type of massage will become more and more popular and will one day be available everywhere. I am particularly a fan of the Brazilian Lymphatic massage technique with the tools.
During the massage it doesn't feel like much is happening. It is a very gentle and light massage as the lymph is superficial on the body. It is a relaxing massage except, if you are ticklish, or have ticklish spots. I found deep breathing usually helps get you past this sensation. After my massage it is typical for me to have to pee more frequently. This is your body releasing all the excess fluid and toxins. The best part besides leaving the massage relaxed is the next day waking up feeling lighter and less puffy and looking like a super model. I think everyone should have monthly lymphatic massages.
Some information about the lymphatic system.
The lymphatic system is the largest circulatory system in the body and it is essential for our health. It helps maintain fluid balance in our bodies by collecting excess fluid and cell waste. It then cleans the fluid and filters it through your lymph nodes before putting it back into your body via the bloodstream. The lymphatic system is a crucial part of our immunity. A sluggish lymphatic system can result in a lower immune system and excess fluid retention in your body. Everything from stress, poor diet, product buildup, lack of exercise and environmental toxins can cause lymph stagnation. Signs of lymphatic congestion may include bloating, food intolerances and dull skin.
Some of you may wonder why you would need to massage the lymph when the body does it naturally. That is a great question. Lymphatic massage is like giving your body a little boost of energy to help move and detox your entire body. It is a great assistant to helping your bodies natural process and great at preventing toxins from building up in your body causing disease. I think lymphatic massage is a great health promotion tool to have in combination with your regular massages.
