Some of you may know, I have lived in London Ontario, twice. Once for University when I was at Western and a few years ago as an adult. During my time there, I explored and created a list of go to places that I love. Even now when I go for a day trip to the city, I make a point of going to these places. If you are heading to London for the day or maybe overnight I recommend you check them out.
Coffee Shops
Locomotive- South Location
Has a great atmosphere, delicious coffee and a great menu. (They also have amazing GF treats)
Chocolate/ Ice Cream
Vaka/ Buttercreme -This originally started as an artisan chocolate place that had delicious vegan (coconut) based ice cream. They have since expanded and have regular ice cream as well.
I high recommend any of the truffles and if you want to try something unique try the Black licorice and black lava sea salt. The owner said he was inspired to create this flavour during a trip to Iceland.
Sunday's Clothing and Interiors- It is a bit off the beaten path, but the shop owned by an Interior designer is so cute, and the clothing she has curated to sell is also one of a kind.
Purdy Naturals- You could spend hours in this store going through all the unique things they have curated.
Restaurants
Pizza Madre- located in the lower level of my old building
Thaifoon- love the pad thai there, and the Masonville Mall location has a nice vibe
The Green Window- by the best salad/bowl place. (They have 2 locations) I usually go to the Masonville location since there is more parking
Beladi's Bakery- Middle Eastern. My sister and I love this place, it is simple but delicious. You can kind the owner cooking for you and everything always tastes delicious and made with love.
They also serves my favourite Middle Eastern dessert Knafeh.
Things to do
Thames River Trail- I love the river walking path that is paved to walk along. You can walk for as long as you desire, the path goes along the Thames from Western all the way to Spring Bank Park. It is one of my favourite things to do. I really enjoy the portion of the trail from Western to Downtown.
Museum London- This art muesum is an arctectural feature in it's self. It is a free (by donation) museum open to the public. I recommend going during the free guided tours, you will get way more out of the experience and hear the stories behind the art.
Facial/ Beauty
Kept-If you are looking for a holistic facial or your brows to have an upgrade, I highly recommend Kept.
