All four of the people that I follow on Instagram have recently been talking about how they got the perfect healthy hair. All four used different hair products but the one thing in common was regular hair cuts. So that got me thinking there is something about always getting your hair cut that helps with the health of your hair. Living in the middle of no where with no car it is hard for me currently to access a hair dresser. This is how my new addiction to cutting my split ends started. Literally hours will go by and I will still be head down in this task. Yes, my hair is that bad. My last hair cut was last June or July and I have died it a few times since. My hair is curly so it is naturally known to be dry and damaged. I also fried it by bleaching it blonde, to blend my gray hair.
One night in my dreams I dreamt about me talking to someone on how to cut split ends and how to make your hair healthier. I am not saying everyone should do this, I am just sharing my experience. I woke up inspired and was on a mission to make my hair healthier. Not having an abundance of cash to spend on high end hair products, haircut or hair Botox. I decided I would do what I could in the moment. Do my coconut oil hair masks regularly and trim all my split ends on my own.
While cutting my own split ends and yes there was a few oops, I cut more than I wanted moments! I didn't let myself get to bothered by them as it is part of the process and I know my hair will grow.
I found that when I was cutting my hair it brought me so much joy and satisfaction. It kept me so present in the moment. Literally everything else all my worries or stresses or to do’s would fall away and I would become so present. It put me in a meditative state. I believe this is what my split end journey was showing me and teaching me. How to feel joy in the moment and let everything else fall away, as it wasn't important in that moment. It taught me how to truly just be present.
